Lester Lorch - Beaver

Both courses at Lester Lorch in Cedar Hill are a ton of fun! It is really great to be able to get 36 different holes in at one location where the variety, challenge, and scenery are so great!  These two courses are primarily used only by disc golfers so it is a great retreat to surround yourself with the great outdoors and disc golf!

Beaver is a very fun and challenging course. There is a great variety of holes here…a few that are somewhat open, a few that are densely wooded, several that are just wooded enough that you have to combine both power and great technical accuracy to score well, and a few holes that incorporate elevation change.

The variety offered at this course is rarely paralleled by other courses in the DFW area. The course gives you a lot of different challenges to think about throughout your round. There are quality concrete teepads. The baskets are in great shape. The fairways are well maintained. The course is very pretty and could be enjoyed by just hiking around.

Holes that stand out in my mind as being particularly great are holes 1 and 17. Hole one is a long uphill shot through a reasonable smattering of trees that requires a well placed long drive. Hole 17 is a really fun shot across the pond to a basket that is up a hill behind the pond and guarded by trees all around it.

These two courses are definitely worth a long drive to get to.  Go when you have lots of time to really enjoy the course and its beauty.

It is easy to see that a LOT of work has been put into this course and the payoff is an awesome couple of course.

If you live within 100 miles of this course and haven’t played it yet, you need to fix that!
