The First Second Saturday

Beginning Saturday September 11th we will have the first of our ongoing monthly traveling trophy-only bag tag challenges at Z Boaz. This will give the club an additional source of revenue as well as create the opportunity for members who do not usually play the regular Minis and Tournaments where bag tags are exchanged to meet other members and compete for bag tags. We will host this fund-raising challenge at a different course on the second Saturday of each month at 9am, if there is a particular course you would like for the challenge to travel to, let us know!

We will announce the next course at each challenge, on Facebook and via email. There will be a $5 club donation required to play and in addition to the entire field playing for tags, there will be a trophy given to the winners of three divisions, Open, Advanced and Masters. Also, there will be an optional $1 ace pot that will carry over each month. Anyone who needs a replacement bag tag or wants to become a member can do so at these events for $10 through the end of the year.

We plan to hold these on the last Saturday every month rain or shine, even if there is a local PDGA tourney going on. We encourage everyone to play the tournament but know there are plenty of non tournament players in the ranks that will still want to attend the challenges. In the future we may consider setting up some kind of league championship, but that would take someone stepping up to make that happen. Also we will want to develop several qualified volunteers to help run this so that we can maintain it every month regardless of everyone’s schedule. So if you would like to help out with this let us know. So show up with your tag, cards will be made out in the order of tag you bring in, no card requests please. Look forward to seeing you all!
