10th Veterans Ice Bowl - Results

The long tradition of charity Ice Bowls at Veterans Park was resurrected last month on January 30th. Keith Machen, long standing ADGA member and past Member of the Year, brought back the famous Ice Bowl tournament to reflect the resurgence of the Arlington Disc Golf Association. Keith expects the ADGA will continue running Ice Bowls every year giving their club a chance to give back to the community. He hopes to let the city and everyone who visits Veterans Park know that the disc golfers of the ADGA are caring and conscientious citizens of the city.

More than $2600 was raised during the one day tournament for the Tarrant Area Food Bank. The food bank provides food, education and other services to Tarrant and 13 other surrounding counties. According to the food bank the donation will provide 10,400 meals and the 103 pounds of food will provide another 100 meals.

The format for the tournament was Doubles. There were 54 teams putting 108 people on the 21 hole course including 5 mixed (male/female) teams. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the cause. We look forward to more Ice Bowls at Veterans in the future.

We would like to thank David from the Quick Stop down the street from the Vet for his donation and everything else he did to help out on the day of the event.
