Weatherford Ice Bowl Results
What a day for an Ice Bowl. Temperatures started out a little cold, but warmed up nicely to around 60 with little or no wind.
I couldn’t have been happier with how smoothly everything went. Thanks for all the help. We had 73 participants. That was 23 more than we had last year. We raised close to $900 and over 1000 pounds of food for the Pythian Home. I can’t wait to see what happens next year.
John “Panama” Ford from Abiliene took home the Open Division with a score of 58, saved with a nice 60 foot putt on the last hole to stay two strokes ahead of Brice Longerbone and Toby Torres. It was a great round of back and forth between those 3.
Our Recreational Division was taken by Denver Nelson with a score of 63 who did everything he could to make it from East Fort Worth along with Andrew Hancock just in time for tee off. I’m glad they made it in and were able to donate. He took the division by 2 strokes.
The Advanced Division went to Ryan Latham with an impressive score of 59 which actually would have taken 2nd in our Open Division. Ryan has only been playing disc golf for about a year. He is a young one who has a big future ahead. Good job Ryan taking home this win.
No big suprise in the Women’s Division. Stacia Pearce won with an even par 66 to take home the trophy. Stacia’s steady play is always a given. Great job Stacia. We had a great turnout in the Women’s bracket with 5 players. Thanks for coming out and supporting.
In our “Old Man Baggers Division” (Master’s) we had a pretty rowdy group. Joe Sofinowski came all the way down from around Lewisville to take home the trophy with a score of 60 narrowly edging out our local, Dave “Nascar” Emrick, by only 2 strokes. Good to have you Joe. Congratulations.
Here are the Scores for the 22 Hole Layout: Sorry for any misspellings. I didn’t have a score for Mike Cook so if you want to send it to me, just put it in the comments page and I will get it added.
